Case study20 and 27 August 2026

BL1 oil-pipeline trials in Samara and Almetyevsk

August included two separate episodes: testing unauthorised connection detection in Samara and searching for leaks during hydraulic testing of a new oil pipeline in Almetyevsk.

The BiometricLabs BL1 leak detection system uses correlation analysis of vibroacoustic data with neural-network processing.

20 August 2026 · Samara

On 20 August 2026, the BL1 leak detection system was tested for the first time on an oil pipeline at a PJSC Rosneft Oil Company facility in Samara. The objective was to test the possibility of detecting unauthorised connections.

The trial was successful.

The next stage is pilot operation of the system.

27 August 2026 · Almetyevsk

On 27 August in Almetyevsk, the BL1 leak detection system was used during hydraulic testing of a new oil pipeline at a PJSC Tatneft facility.

The trial demonstrated how BL1 can be applied to leak searches during oil-pipeline hydraulic testing.

Two application scenarios

The Samara and Almetyevsk trials covered two different tasks: detecting unauthorised connections in operating infrastructure and searching for leaks during acceptance testing of a new oil pipeline.
